Those spieces of ants are called pavement ants . Those ants are going to nest between cracks and crevices, under rocks and pavers. Thats why you see that green moss on the pavers. To solve the problem you want to gravel or sand the pavers that the moisture doesn't decay under rocks and pavers. We call them moisture barriers.
You will notice around your foundation on the walk way side there is a crack between the foundation and the walk way. You wanna prevent moisture or rain water getting in it to attract ants.
